Admission at a glance
Aalborg University is known for problem based learning delivered largely in project groups, taught in Danish at bachelor's level and predominantly in English at master's level, across its main Aalborg campus and a Copenhagen campus. Non-EU, non-EEA and non-Swiss bachelor applicants apply through the national optagelse.dk portal with all documentation due by 15 March at noon; fee paying master's applicants in the same group apply directly to Aalborg University by 15 January for a September start, well ahead of the 1 March deadline for EU/EEA/Swiss applicants and applicants exempt from tuition.
Non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants pay an application fee of EUR 150 (about DKK 1,150), covering up to three applications to Aalborg University in the same intake. Tuition for non-EU/EEA/Swiss master's students is set by programme and billed per semester: confirmed 2026 rates for this record range from DKK 27,800 a semester for programmes such as tourism, some business administration specialisations and international relations, up to DKK 57,850 a semester for technical programmes such as computer engineering, mechanical engineering and energy engineering. English proficiency for English taught programmes is set at English B level: an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 overall (at least 6.0 per section) or a TOEFL iBT score of 85 (at least 20 per section); Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency at grade C or 180 is also accepted, and both IELTS and TOEFL results must be less than two years old.
