Typical minimum: 79 to 90 overall depending on the university; 79 is the most common floor, verified 7 September 2026.

Among the universities in content/inbox/universities-au.json that publish a TOEFL iBT figure, most set 79 (RMIT, UTS, and Curtin for tests taken before June 2026) or a little above (81 at the University of Melbourne and at Curtin from June 2026, 82 at the University of Western Australia); UNSW Sydney sets a notably higher 90, and Southern Cross University a notably lower 60. There is no single Australia-wide TOEFL standard; each university, and often each course, sets its own.
