Admission at a glance
The University of Agder admits applicants from outside the EU/EEA to English-taught programmes once a year, for studies starting in autumn. The application period for non-EU/EEA applicants is currently 1 November to 1 December, and 1 November to 15 December for music performance programmes; applicants for autumn 2027 therefore apply in November 2026. The application process is free of charge and designed so applicants can apply on their own without agents. Master's applicants must show English with IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80, PTE Academic 62 or a Cambridge certificate, and bachelor's applicants with IELTS Academic 5.0 or TOEFL iBT 60, unless they qualify for an exemption. Tuition for non-EU/EEA students in 2026/2027 is NOK 47,000 a year for the bachelor's in English and Global Development Studies, NOK 63,000 for master's programmes such as International Business and Cybersecurity Management, NOK 92,000 for master's programmes such as Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things, Mechatronics and Renewable Energy, and NOK 135,000 for classical and popular music performance. All students also pay NOK 800 a semester in semester and copy fees for autumn 2026 and spring 2027. UiA does not offer any grants or scholarships.
