Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus is the Malaysian branch of Australia's Swinburne University of Technology, based in Kuching, Sarawak, and runs its own admission and fee structure for Foundation, Diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. International applicants must submit certified copies of IELTS or TOEFL results (or an accepted equivalent) no more than two years old, alongside academic transcripts and other supporting documents; the general undergraduate floor is IELTS Academic 6.0 with no individual band below 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 64 with minimum section scores, or PTE Academic 50. Postgraduate coursework programmes such as the MBA, Master of Construction Management and Master of Information Technology require IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0), and the Master of TESOL requires IELTS 7.0. Application documents must reach Swinburne Sarawak at least eight weeks before the course starts, and international applicants must accept their offer around 60 days ahead of the intake to leave enough time for the student visa process. According to Swinburne's own 2026 indicative fee page, tuition (excluding service tax) runs: Foundation Studies RM 29,040 total; Diploma RM 47,880 to RM 67,560 total; undergraduate degrees RM 34,040 to RM 52,360 a year, with science-based degrees at the top of that range; and postgraduate programmes RM 38,300 to RM 67,280, mostly quoted as a whole-programme total, with the Master of Information Technology the most expensive postgraduate course listed. Swinburne Sarawak's main intakes are February and July, confirmed on its own site, though this project could not find a specific 2027 deadline date this session.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree

Academic entry requirements are assessed per programme; certified copies of prior qualifications must be submitted with the application, at least eight weeks before the course starts for international applicants.

English language

IELTS Academic 6.0, no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 64 (minimum 13 reading, 12 listening, 18 speaking, 21 writing); or PTE Academic 50 (no communicative skill below 50). Scores must be within two years of the intended start date.

Postgraduate

MBA, Master of Construction Management and Master of Information Technology: IELTS 6.5, no band below 6.0. Master of TESOL: IELTS 7.0, no band below 6.5. Academic entry requirements set per programme, generally a relevant bachelor's degree.
