Admission at a glance
Medical University of Gdansk, MUG, is a specialised medical university whose English-taught offer for international candidates covers a 6-year Doctor of Medicine programme, a 5.5-year Master of Pharmacy, a 3-year Bachelor of Nursing, a 2-year International Master in Sustainable Drug Discovery and a 1-year Premedical Course for applicants who need to strengthen their science background before applying. Admission does not rely on school-leaving grades alone: candidates register online, submit scanned documents including an English language certificate, and then sit MUG's own entrance exam, a roughly two-hour written test covering biology and chemistry for the Medicine programme, followed by an approximately 20-minute online interview conducted over video call in which the candidate must show their face and identity documents. The university runs several exam sessions across the year rather than one fixed date, including specific sessions timed for candidates applying from the USA and Canada. Competition is significant: MUG's own figures put roughly 12 to 13 candidates per place for Medicine, 5 to 6 for Nursing and 2 to 3 for Pharmacy. Tuition is billed per semester and fixed by programme, alongside a separate one-off Orientation Week fee, and is paid in two instalments a year, due by 15 October and 15 February.

Requirements
Bachelor (Nursing, and the long-cycle Medicine and Pharmacy programmes)
- A secondary school certificate qualifying for higher education, or, for the Premedical Course, a certificate suitable for a one-year preparatory programme.
- English proficiency at CEFR B2 or above: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80, PTE Academic 59, TOEIC 785 (Listening and Reading), or an IB diploma with English at HL or SL.
- MUG's own entrance exam (written test in biology and chemistry for Medicine, subject-appropriate content for Pharmacy and Nursing) plus an online interview.
Note
Medicine and Pharmacy are long-cycle programmes rather than separate bachelor's and master's degrees; this record reports them under bachelor level to match the site's level categories.
