Mälardalen University in Sweden was founded in 1977 and has campuses in Västerås and Eskilstuna. Students from outside the EU/EEA pay tuition per semester, from SEK 50,000 for programmes such as International Business Management and International Marketing to SEK 67,500 for engineering master's programmes and SEK 125,000 for Chamber Music. The university's scholarship covers 100% of tuition for some master's students, but it is not open to applicants from Bangladesh and eleven other Swedish development partner countries.

English requirements are set per programme. The Master's Programme in Intelligent Embedded Systems accepts Swedish English 6, IELTS 6.5 with no band below 5.5, or TOEFL iBT 90 with a writing score of at least 20; some bachelor's programmes ask only for English 6 or equivalent.
