Admission at a glance

Khalifa University admits undergraduates for the Fall semester and graduate students for Fall and, in some programmes, Spring. Applications for Spring 2027 admission to PhD programmes only are open until 28 September 2026, with Spring 2027 classes beginning on 11 January 2027. Undergraduate admission for Fall 2026 has closed, and the university says to stay tuned for the Fall 2027 timeline, which had not been published when this page was checked; Fall 2027 classes are expected to begin on 23 August 2027. Graduate applicants pay a non-refundable application fee of AED 200 including VAT on submitting; undergraduate applicants pay no application fee. Newly admitted students pay a seat holding deposit. Scholarship eligibility is assessed as part of admission, with no separate application: undergraduate international students can receive tiers from full tuition coverage to 75%, 50% or 25% waivers, or textbooks, without a stipend, while PhD scholarships can include full or partial tuition coverage and a monthly stipend. Direct PhD applicants need a GRE quantitative score of at least 150. English is required at IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 79 for undergraduates and IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 91 for graduate study.
