Khalifa University of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, formed in 2017 by merging KUSTAR, Masdar Institute and the Petroleum Institute, charges AED 2,500 per credit hour for undergraduate study, AED 5,000 for master's and AED 6,666 for doctoral study. Applications for Spring 2027 PhD admission close on 28 September 2026, and undergraduate scholarships range from full tuition coverage to a 25% waiver.

English test waiver

Khalifa University requires IELTS Academic 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 79 for undergraduate admission, and says meeting the English requirement is mandatory to enrol; EmSAT is not mandatory but valid scores are considered. Master's and PhD applicants need IELTS Academic 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 91 taken at a test centre (the Home Edition is not accepted), within the 24 months before applying. Graduate applicants are exempt if they are native English speakers from countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, or graduates of an English-medium institution who can show IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 79 at the time of admission.
