Admission at a glance

KTU opens applications once a year, from the middle of October, for studies starting in September, and has no spring intake. For 2026-27 the application period ran from 15 October 2025 to 1 June 2026, with studies starting on 1 September 2026; the 2027 dates had not been published when this page was checked. Applicants apply through KTU's own online system and pay a one-time, non-refundable EUR 100 application fee within two weeks of submitting. Every applicant who applies through that system is automatically a candidate for KTU's tuition fee waivers, which close with the application deadline and are announced by the middle of July. There are extra conditions for some applicants: non-EU bachelor's applicants may be at most three years out of secondary school, and holders of some school qualifications must take the OMPT mathematics test by 1 April. English is required at IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 75 for a bachelor's and IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 85 for a master's, and KTU offers a free online English test to applicants without one.
