IIT Bombay, established in 1958 in the northern suburbs of Mumbai, had 13,366 students in 2025-26, including 6,227 undergraduates and 3,620 PhD scholars. Foreign nationals pay tuition of Rs 3,00,000 a semester for undergraduate study in 2026-27.
