Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Tuition Fees 2027

IIT Bombay, established in 1958 in the northern suburbs of Mumbai, had 13,366 students in 2025-26, including 6,227 undergraduates and 3,620 PhD scholars. Foreign nationals pay tuition of Rs 3,00,000 a semester for undergraduate study in 2026-27. For master's study the rate is Rs 1,70,000 a semester, or Rs 85,000 for students from SAARC countries including Bangladesh.

IIT Bombay's fee circular for the Autumn semester 2026-27 sets undergraduate tuition for foreign nationals at INR 300,000 (Rs 3,00,000) a semester in the BTech, BDes and BS programmes; total fees per semester are Rs 3,08,150 and the total at admission is Rs 3,34,150. Foreign nationals holding PIO or OCI cards issued before 4 March 2021 who are allotted open category seats pay Indian fees. For international postgraduate new entrants, master's tuition is Rs 1,70,000 a semester for students from outside SAARC and Rs 85,000 for SAARC students (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and the Maldives), with totals at admission of Rs 2,32,700 and Rs 1,47,700. PhD tuition is Rs 1,50,000 a semester outside SAARC and Rs 75,000 for SAARC students. MBA tuition is Rs 5,00,000 a semester, and M.Sc. tuition Rs 25,000. Students with a tuition concession, such as teaching assistants, DAAD or Study in India awardees, pay Rs 18,000 for master's and Rs 3,750 for PhD study.
