Indian Institute of Science Scholarships 2027

The Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru came into existence on 27 May 1909 and had 5,678 students on its rolls as of 31 January 2026. Foreign nationals pay the same fees as General category students, such as a first-year total of INR 40,800 for the PhD and INR 2,20,800 for the B.Tech, and international applicants pay no application fee. Admitted master's and PhD students, including international students, receive monthly stipends.

Admitted international students on IISc's M.Tech course programmes receive a stipend of INR 12,400 a month, the same as Indian students, and PhD students receive INR 37,000 a month for the first two years and INR 42,000 from the third year, according to the international admission pages. M.Sc, M.Mgt, BS (Research) and B.Tech students are ordinarily not entitled to institute-funded scholarships.
