Ghent warns that only a limited number of scholarships is available and that they are awarded competitively, and nearly all of them are funded by others. Master Mind, from the Government of Flanders, pays up to EUR 10,000 a year to academically outstanding master's students, with a GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 expected; about 30 are awarded across all Flemish institutions, roughly six of them at Ghent, and the academic application must reach Ghent before 1 April. VLIR-UOS scholarships are open to students from 29 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Ghent's own contributions are fee reductions rather than grants: the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences removes its higher fee for students from 38 listed countries, and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration grants eight scholarships to applicants with outstanding GMAT or GRE scores, for which Ghent does not publish an amount.
