Admission at a glance

Comenius University admits international students to its English-taught medical programmes through entrance examinations run by each medical faculty. The Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin has published its 2027-28 dates: applications open on 1 December 2026, and online admission exams are held on 20 March, 26 June and 6 August 2027, with application deadlines of 6 March, 12 June and 23 July 2027. The exam has 40 biology and 40 chemistry questions in 80 minutes, can be retaken, and admits up to 150 students; the admission fee of EUR 70 is paid when applying, and tuition of EUR 11,500 before the semester starts in mid September 2027. The Faculty of Medicine in Bratislava had published only its 2026-27 rounds, in March, June and August 2026, with a 100-question biology and 100-question chemistry test of 180 minutes, an admission fee of EUR 99 for each application, and 240 General Medicine and 48 Dentistry places. It advises applicants from outside the European Union to register only for the March or June exam, preferably March, because the visa process can take several weeks. Neither medical faculty requires an English certificate. Admitted students then apply for temporary residence for the purpose of study at a Slovak embassy.
