VUB calculates tuition as a fixed amount plus an amount per credit, and the rates depend on the programme and on whether the student is an EEA national. For 2026-27 an EEA student pays EUR 305.40 plus EUR 14.60 a credit, EUR 1,181.40 for 60 credits. Non-EEA rates are set per programme. VUB's own worked example is the Bachelor in Social Sciences: EUR 2,200 plus 60 credits at EUR 52, EUR 5,320 a year. The three English-taught bachelor's programmes cost EUR 4,800 for Linguistics and Literary Studies, EUR 5,320 for Social Sciences and EUR 5,720 for Business Economics. English-taught masters run from EUR 2,500 for Molecular Biology and EUR 4,400 for Applied Computer Science, through EUR 4,800 for programmes such as Biology, Physics and Astronomy and the Research MA in Philosophy, EUR 5,320 for Biomedical, Photonics and Sustainable Land Management and EUR 5,613.10 for Geography, to EUR 5,720 for Management, International Business, Biomedical Research and Political Science. Advanced masters are priced separately, up to EUR 6,500 for the MSc in European Governance and the LL.M. in International and European Law at the Institute for European Studies. Non-EEA students from the least developed countries on the OECD DAC list and from ICP partner countries, and VLIR-UOS, Enabel and Master Mind scholarship holders, pay the EEA rate. The application fee is EUR 90.
