University of Antwerp Admission Requirements 2027

The University of Antwerp, formed in its present shape in 2003, has 24,827 students and 35 English-taught programmes, 22 of them masters. Non-EEA students pay EUR 4,300 a year for a bachelor's and EUR 7,800 for a master's in 2026-27, and applying costs nothing. Applications for 2027-28 open on 4 November 2026, with a non-EEA deadline of 28 February 2027.

English test waiver

The University of Antwerp's minimums are IELTS Academic 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each part, taken at a test centre and not online; TOEFL iBT 80 for tests before 21 January 2026 or 4.5 on the new scale after it, at a test centre and not the Home Edition; PTE Academic 59 at a test centre; Cambridge B2 First with at least 176; or ITACE at B2. For 2026-27 enrolment a certificate must be dated 1 January 2024 or later. Programmes may set a higher level, and language programmes such as English Language and Literature always require C1. A degree from Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg exempts an applicant. At bachelor's level a diploma from an English-taught programme in Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States exempts, and at master's level the admission board may accept a year of English-taught study instead. The Institute of Development Policy and the maritime and air transport centre set their own rules.
