Admission at a glance

Universiti Brunei Darussalam admits students through an online application system with February and September intakes. Graduate applications for the February 2027 intake are open until 20 September 2026. Undergraduate applications for the September 2026 intake opened on 22 January 2026 and closed on 28 February 2026 after an extension, and dates for September 2027 entry have not yet been posted. International applicants must upload a letter of security clearance issued by an authorised institution in their country of origin. Undergraduate applicants need IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550 or Band B2 in the UBD English Proficiency Test, and graduate applicants IELTS Academic 6.0 or TOEFL PBT 550. International undergraduate programme fees for 2026/2027 range from BND 16,500 to BND 60,000, and new students pay an acceptance fee and a registration fee of BND 100 each. International students can apply for the Brunei Darussalam Government Scholarship for Foreign Students, which covers tuition and allowances, and PhD applicants for the UBD Graduate Research Scholarship, which pays a monthly allowance of BND 2,200 for 36 months. Graduate coursework tuition for most master's programmes is BND 3,000 per programme.
