Semmelweis University, founded in 1769, is Hungary's leading medical school and teaches medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and the health sciences in English in Budapest. General Medicine and Dentistry cost USD 10,450 a semester and Pharmaceutical Sciences USD 6,620, while the Faculty of Health Sciences prices in euros from EUR 4,050 a semester. Admission is by an entrance examination that tests English and Biomedical English alongside biology and chemistry.

Semmelweis had not published its 2027 dates when this was checked on 12 September 2026. The 2026 cycle is the pattern and the closing date depends on the programme: applications opened on 12 January 2026 and closed on 31 May for General Medicine and Dentistry, 21 June for Pharmaceutical Sciences and 31 July for the Nursing BSc. Two later dates matter as much as the closing one. A candidate still at school uploads the matriculation certificate by 21 August of the application year, and an admitted applicant has only fourteen days from the notification to pay the USD 2,000 deposit.
