Reykjavík University has operated since 4 September 1998, when it began as the Reykjavík School of Business. For 2026-2027, undergraduate tuition is ISK 328,000 per semester for EU/EEA citizens and ISK 897,000 per semester for citizens of other countries, because the university receives no government funding for non-EEA students. Non-EU/EEA applicants start only in the autumn semester, apply by 31 January, pay a processing fee of ISK 16,000 and need IELTS Academic 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 91.
Reykjavík University lists scholarships that waive tuition, including the Presidential List for top grades, the Alan Turing Scholarship covering all tuition for the Computer Science master's programme, and the Landsbanki Incentive Scholarship, two awards for students whose mother tongue is not Icelandic that cover first-year undergraduate tuition.
