Reykjavík University admits non-EU/EEA students only in the autumn semester, which begins in mid-August. Their application opens on 5 October and closes on 31 January, so applicants for autumn 2027 apply between 5 October 2026 and 31 January 2027. EU/EEA applicants can start in autumn, applying from 5 February to 30 April, or in spring, applying from 15 October to 5 December, although not every programme admits in spring. Nationals of countries outside the EU, EEA and EFTA pay a non-refundable processing fee of ISK 16,000 when they apply, which covers two applications and is deducted from tuition if they are admitted, and applications are not considered until it is paid. Students whose first language is not English need TOEFL iBT 91, TOEFL PBT 577 or IELTS Academic 6.5, or a DAAD or Cambridge certificate at B2, and a waiver is possible after a year of English-taught higher education in a majority English-speaking country. Tuition for 2026-2027 is charged per semester: ISK 328,000 for undergraduates from the EU/EEA and ISK 897,000 for undergraduates from other countries, while master's tuition for non-EEA students ranges from ISK 1,052,000 in fields such as Computer Science and Law to ISK 1,117,000 in Business, and the MBA costs ISK 1,292,000 for all students. Scholarships include tuition waivers for top students and the Landsbanki Incentive Scholarship for students whose mother tongue is not Icelandic.
