NTNU is Norway's largest university, based in Trondheim with campuses in Gjovik and Alesund, and teaches more than 60 master's degrees in English. Students from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland have paid tuition since 2023, from NOK 176,300 a year for humanities and business up to NOK 528,650 for medicine, and NTNU states that it offers no scholarships that cover the fee.

NTNU publishes this as a standing annual deadline rather than a dated cycle: 1 December for applicants from outside the EU and the EEA, for master's studies starting the following August. The comparison dates are 15 January for EU and EEA applicants, 1 March for Norwegian or Nordic citizens with an education from outside the Nordics, and 15 April for Nordic applicants. NTNU says individual programmes may set exemptions to these dates, and Erasmus Mundus degrees at NTNU follow the joint programme's own calendar.
