Admission at a glance
Maastricht University teaches almost all of its bachelor's and master's programmes in English, using small-group, problem-based learning rather than large lectures. Its official institutional tuition fee schedule for 2026-2027 lists a specific non-EU/EEA rate for every bachelor's programme rather than one university-wide figure: EUR 13,200 a year for programmes such as Psychology, International Business, Economics and Business Economics, Dutch Law and European Law School; EUR 18,400 a year for programmes including Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and Global Studies; EUR 20,109 a year for the Liberal Arts and Sciences tracks at University College Maastricht and Maastricht Science Programme; and EUR 32,000 a year for Medicine. The statutory rate for eligible EEA students is EUR 4,465 for 2026-2027.
Applicants whose diploma is based on a non-EU/EEA curriculum pay a EUR 100 handling fee at the start of the application, covering the administrative cost of assessing their prior education; some applicants are exempt depending on their diploma. English proficiency for programmes at the School of Business and Economics is checked against IELTS Academic 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80, with other faculties setting their own equivalent floor.
Maastricht runs several bachelor's programmes as numerus fixus, including European Law School and International Business, with a national deadline of 15 January; other, open-access bachelor's programmes generally close around 1 May for non-EU applicants, though Maastricht sets this individually by programme rather than as one university-wide date.
