KU Leuven Scholarships 2027 for International Students

KU Leuven, founded in 1425 and the oldest university in the Low Countries, has 64,476 students, 16,791 of them international, on its main campus in Leuven and in nine other Flemish cities. Non-EEA students pay EUR 3,093.12 to EUR 9,493.92 a year in 2026-27 against EUR 1,181.40 for EEA students, the application fee is EUR 90, and the usual non-EEA deadline is 1 March.

KU Leuven's International Scholarship Fund pays a small number of awards for master's students, all applied for through one application with a deadline in mid January: 15 January 2026 for 2026-27. The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship, open to all nationalities, gives a full fee waiver, leaving an administration fee of about EUR 140, and EUR 13,200 a year for up to two years; one is awarded. The KU Leuven Scholarship for Africa, the ASEAN Scholarship and the Scholarship for Central and South America each give a full fee waiver and a one-off EUR 4,000, one of each. For 2027-28 the Science@Leuven Scholarship pays EUR 12,000 a year for up to two years, with a partial fee waiver, from 1 October 2026 to 15 February 2027; the scholarship's own English bar is higher than for admission, TOEFL 94 or IELTS 7. Several faculties also cut the non-EEA fee, including Engineering Science, which reduces it to EUR 3,252.72 for up to ten students per master's programme on academic results without a separate application. Master Mind, worth EUR 10,225 a year, is funded by the Flemish Ministry of Education, not by KU Leuven.
