KU Leuven Application Deadlines 2027 for International Students

KU Leuven, founded in 1425 and the oldest university in the Low Countries, has 64,476 students, 16,791 of them international, on its main campus in Leuven and in nine other Flemish cities. Non-EEA students pay EUR 3,093.12 to EUR 9,493.92 a year in 2026-27 against EUR 1,181.40 for EEA students, the application fee is EUR 90, and the usual non-EEA deadline is 1 March.

To be confirmed. KU Leuven publishes a window per programme and had not yet published the 2027-28 windows. In the 2026-27 cycle applications opened on 9 October 2025 and the most common deadline for non-EEA applicants was 1 March, with some programmes closing on 1 May or 1 June and one as early as 31 January. Check the programme's own window before relying on any date. The application fee is EUR 90 per application.

The Science@Leuven Scholarship for 2027-28, for master's students in the Faculty of Science, open from 1 October 2026 to 15 February 2027. It pays EUR 12,000 a year for up to two consecutive years, and non-EEA holders also receive a partial fee waiver, which brought the fee to EUR 3,252.72 in 2026-27. The scholarship asks for TOEFL iBT 94 or IELTS 7.0 with subscores, above the admission minimum. The number of awards depends on the funds available each year.
