Claude Bernard University Lyon 1, commonly called Lyon 1, is a public university focused on science and technology, medicine, pharmacy and sport science, based mainly on the La Doua campus in Villeurbanne next to Lyon.

International applicants for a later bachelor's year (L2, L3) or a second-year master's (M2) apply through the eCandidat portal; applicants from Etudes en France countries follow that procedure instead, with dates and requirements published on the Campus France site for their country of residence. Since Bangladesh is not covered by Etudes en France, a Bangladeshi applicant at these levels applies directly through eCandidat.

On fees, Lyon 1's own page dedicated to the 2026-2027 academic year confirms the differentiated non-EU rate in full: EUR 2,902 for a bachelor's degree and EUR 3,950 for a master's degree. Automatic exemption applies only to French citizens, EU/EEA/Swiss citizens, doctoral students, refugees, long-term residents, and those attached to a French tax household for two years or more; beyond that, the university may grant full or partial exemptions at its own discretion, within a cap of 30% of eligible non-EU students for 2026-2027, applied for through eCandidat alongside the main application, with the first decisions communicated in July, August and September. Students already exempt in 2025-2026 keep their exemption if they continue in the same study cycle at Lyon 1.

Master's

A bachelor's degree or equivalent for M1; a completed M1 or equivalent for M2. Applied for through eCandidat unless from an Etudes en France country.
