Bachelor's (later years, L2/L3)
Academic transcripts showing progress in a relevant Licence programme elsewhere, or equivalent. Applied for through eCandidat unless from an Etudes en France country.
Master's
A bachelor's degree or equivalent for M1; a completed M1 or equivalent for M2. Applied for through eCandidat unless from an Etudes en France country.
Documents
Academic transcripts and diplomas, passport copy, CV, motivation letter, and academic references, submitted through eCandidat with supporting documents as one PDF per applicant where the university's exchange-style instructions apply; degree-seeking applicants follow the eCandidat portal's own document checklist.
How to apply
- Identify the programme and level (L2/L3 bachelor's, M1 or M2 master's).
- As a Bangladeshi applicant, apply through eCandidat, since Bangladesh is outside the Etudes en France procedure.
- Submit the fee-exemption request through eCandidat alongside the main application if seeking exemption from the differentiated rate.
- Wait for the decision; the university communicates its first decisions in July, August and September.
- Once admitted, apply for the student visa.
English test waiver
Lyon 1 is a science, technology, medicine and sport-science university teaching mainly in French; its foreign-student pages list classes taught in English through the course catalogue but do not publish one university-wide IELTS or TOEFL minimum. Figures of IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90 are quoted by third-party aggregator sites, not by the university's own pages, so they are not used here.
