English test waiver
For bachelor's and master's programmes BME asks for English at CEFR B2, proved by one of: IELTS or IELTS Online 5.0, Cambridge B2 First 160, TOEFL iBT or Home Edition 72, Trinity ISE II, PTE Academic 29, TOEIC with at least 400 listening, 385 reading, 160 speaking and 150 writing, or a Medium of Instruction certificate. Those minimums are low by European standards, but BME warns that individual faculties may set higher test scores, add oral examinations or require a specific academic background, so the programme page is the final word. For the preparatory programmes the bar is B1: IELTS 4.0, TOEFL iBT 42, Cambridge B1 Preliminary 140, PTE 23, Duolingo 60, Trinity ISE I, a Medium of Instruction certificate, or passing BME's own English entrance test in the e-admission system. Note that Duolingo is listed only for preparatory programmes, not for BSc or MSc. Where sanctions or a lack of test centres make an external test impossible, an internal BME English test can be requested in advance.
