Azerbaijan State University of Economics Admission 2026

Admission at a glance

International applicants to the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) apply online through the national admissions portal at portal.edu.az (an older UNEC page also points to www.kabinet.unec.edu.az for the same purpose), choosing a specialty and a language of instruction (Azerbaijani, English, Russian or Turkish) from the 21 specialties UNEC offers at bachelor's and master's level, plus MBA and doctoral tracks. For the 2026/2027 academic year UNEC opened international admissions in May 2026 with an original document-submission deadline of 31 August 2026, then published an extension on 17 September 2026 moving the deadline to 30 September 2026; classes are set to start 15 September 2026. Undergraduate applicants upload a secondary school certificate, passport, 3x4 photo and a medical certificate covering Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV; documents issued abroad need an apostille and, if not in Azerbaijani, a notarised translation. Master's applicants submit a bachelor's diploma and diploma supplement under the same apostille and translation rules, plus passport, photo and medical certificate. A separate general admission-rules page for international students also lists an "English language proficiency document" among the required uploads. Once documents are verified and the applicant is judged eligible, UNEC issues an official invitation letter; the student then travels to Azerbaijan on an educational visa, submits original documents to the International Cooperation Department, and signs an enrolment contract as a fee-paying student. UNEC states that tuition fees are the same for international and local students on its Bachelor's track.

• Secondary school graduation certificate (Attestat)
• Apostille of the certificate and its supplement if issued abroad
• Notarised translation into Azerbaijani if the certificate is in a foreign language
• Passport
• CV/resume
• English language proficiency document (no numeric minimum score published)
• 3x4 cm photograph
• Medical certificate, including negative Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV test results

Master

Required documents:

• Bachelor's diploma and diploma supplement
• Apostille of the bachelor's diploma and supplement if issued abroad, plus notarised translation
• Passport
• CV/resume
• English language proficiency document (no numeric minimum score published)
• 3x4 cm photograph
• Medical certificate, including negative Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV test results
