Bachelor

• Completed AUBG online application form or the CommonApp
• Essay of about 650 words on one of AUBG's set prompts
• One letter of recommendation from a teacher, professor, counselor, or academic advisor
• Official high school transcript covering the last three years (English, Bulgarian, or Russian; certified, notarized translation if in another language); recommended minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Official English proficiency test score (TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.5, PTE Academic 59, or Duolingo English Test 110), unless the applicant qualifies for a waiver as a native English speaker educated in an English-medium system
• CV or portfolio
• Admissions interview (in person or online)

Master

AUBG's only graduate-level programme is the Executive MBA (EMBA), delivered in Sofia for working professionals; it is a separate programme from the bachelor's degrees above and is not covered by this record's verified figures. Its own site pages state an application fee of EUR 120, an Early Deadline of June 30 (5% tuition discount) and a Regular Deadline of October 30, with the programme beginning in January, and English requirements of TOEFL iBT 80 / IELTS 6.5, but no explicit intake year was found on those pages, so these EMBA figures are not included in this record's verified fields.

Bachelor's applicants submit: the online application form or CommonApp application; an admissions essay (about 650 words); one letter of recommendation; an official high school transcript from the last three years of study (or final diploma with grades if already graduated); an official English proficiency test score report (personal score reports and photocopies are not accepted); a CV or portfolio of achievements; and, optionally, SAT or ACT scores. Transfer applicants submit an official university transcript in place of the high school transcript.

How to apply

1. Choose an application track (First Year, Transfer, Visiting/Part-Time, or Readmission) and start the online application via AUBG's application portal or the CommonApp.
2. Submit the essay, letter of recommendation, official high school (or university, for transfer applicants) transcript, and official English proficiency test score, or request a waiver if eligible.
3. Submit a CV or portfolio.
4. Complete an admissions interview (in person or online) once the transcript and English proficiency score have been uploaded.
5. Optionally submit SAT/ACT scores and a financial aid or scholarship application.
6. Receive an admissions decision within four to six weeks of the chosen deadline (Priority, Early, or Regular).
7. If admitted, confirm the offer and pay the deposit indicated in the acceptance letter by the stated deadline.

English test waiver

AUBG waives the English proficiency test requirement for bachelor's applicants who are citizens of the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada and were primarily educated in those countries, or who completed at least three years of full-time study at an English-language accredited high school. A waiver must be requested from the applicant's Admissions Counselor. AUBG also offers a Free Institutional English Proficiency Test each year for applicants who need to demonstrate proficiency without an external exam.
