Citizens of the EU, EEA and Switzerland, and non-EU applicants who already hold a Danish residence permit that carries the right to study, pay no tuition. Other non-EU applicants pay tuition per semester at a rate set by each programme; VIA's 2026/2027 schedule lists a normal semester rate of DKK 60,000 to 62,500 for the programmes researched here (about EUR 8,028 to 8,363 at VIA's own reference rate), falling to as low as DKK 12,500 in one internship semester on several engineering and construction programmes. Full programme totals in the same schedule range from DKK 163,000 for the one-and-a-half-year BA Top-Up in Design and Business to DKK 432,500 for the four-year BA in Graphic Storytelling. The first semester's tuition is due before the semester starts (1 June for Design & Business and Animation programmes, 15 May for Built Environment and Engineering programmes). Fees are non-refundable once a semester has started, except when a visa is refused.
