Requirements

Bachelor

• A secondary school certificate that qualifies for higher education study in the country where it was issued, with a certified translation.
• Proof of English proficiency for English-taught programmes: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 72, PTE Academic 59, or an accepted exemption.
• Programme-specific entrance exams or qualification interviews for some fields, held online.

Master

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, with a certified transcript and diploma.
• The same English test minimums as bachelor level for English-taught programmes; some fields, including Psychology, ask for a higher IELTS of 6.5.
• A qualification interview or written exam for some programmes.

Documents

Passport copy; certified and translated secondary school certificate or prior degree diploma and transcript; a passport-style photograph meeting the IRK system's technical requirements; proof of English proficiency or an accepted exemption document; and, once qualified, any further documents the specific faculty requests before enrolment. Non-submission of the required documents by the stated deadline is treated as the candidate's resignation from the place.

How to apply

1. Choose a field of study and check its specific requirements and any entrance exam on the IRK offer page.
2. Register on irk.uw.edu.pl, enter your education data and attach scans of translated documents.
3. Pay the application fee (PLN 85, or PLN 100 for fields with a written or oral qualification exam) by the deadline shown next to the field of study.
4. Sit any required online qualification interview or exam.
5. Check your result on your IRK account, then send the required original or certified documents by the stated deadline.
6. Receive the Rector's admission decision, pay the student ID fee (PLN 22) and the relevant tuition instalment, and enrol.
7. Use the admission and enrolment documents to apply for the national type D student visa.

English test waiver

Applicants may also meet the requirement with an advanced-level Polish maturity exam scoring at least 60%, an IB or European Baccalaureate diploma taught in English, a prior degree completed in English, or a sworn translator's certificate; these routes apply mainly to candidates who already hold an EU/EFTA/UK-recognised qualification. TOEIC (785 in Listening and Reading, 150 in Speaking, 160 in Writing) is also accepted. Some programmes, including Psychology, set a higher IELTS minimum of 6.5.
