Non-EU/non-EEA students with a student residence permit pay tuition of EUR 726.72 per semester from their first semester, plus the ÖH students' union fee of EUR 26.20 for winter semester 2026/27, a combined EUR 752.92 per semester. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens pay no tuition, only the ÖH fee, within the standard programme duration plus two tolerance semesters; after that they pay EUR 363.36 tuition plus the ÖH fee. Citizens of the OECD's least developed countries list pay only the ÖH fee for their whole degree. All students pay the ÖH fee regardless of any tuition waiver.

Applying is separate from these fees. The university charges a cost contribution of EUR 50 to take part in the entrance or aptitude procedure for bachelor's and diploma programmes that run one, and for the fitness assessment in sport and human movement science. It is paid once per programme group, not once per programme, so applying to several programmes in the same group costs EUR 50 in total. No official page states a fee for admission to programmes without such a procedure, and none states that applying to them is free.
