University of Turku Admission Requirements 2027

The University of Turku, founded in 1920 in Finland's oldest city, teaches across medicine, law, science, technology, education and the humanities, with a small set of bachelor's programmes and a large set of master's programmes in English. Tuition for students from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland is either 10,000 or 12,000 euros a year depending on the programme.

English test waiver

The University of Turku accepts only the tests it lists and states that no exceptions are made. For bachelor's admission it accepts TOEFL iBT at 78 overall with 20 or more in writing for a test taken before 21 January 2026, or 4 overall with every sub test at 3.5 or above for a test taken on or after that date, including the Home Edition but not MyBest combined scores; IELTS Academic at 6.0 overall with every sub test at 5.5 or above, including IELTS Online and One Skill Retake but not General Training; and PTE Academic at 54 overall with 42 or more in writing, including the online test. An IELTS result cannot be verified after three years, and TOEFL and PTE results cannot be verified after two. Proof has to be provided when applying: Turku does not admit conditionally and let a student prove language later. Degrees and statements of proficiency other than those listed on its own page are not accepted.
