Non-EU students at the University of Trieste who reside outside Italy and do not request an ISEE-based reduction pay a flat, reduced-rate all-inclusive fee of EUR 300 a year. This is separate from a EUR 160 regional tax for the right to university study and a EUR 16 stamp duty, which every student pays regardless of income, taking the total minimum payment to roughly EUR 476 a year. A 10 percent increase applies to students who fall short of the university's minimum credit progress requirements. Students who prefer the ISEE-based route, where eligible, are billed on the standard progressive scale instead of the flat rate.
