University of Reading Admission 2027: Deadlines, Requirements, Fees for International Students

Reading is a research intensive university with particular strength in agriculture, meteorology and built environment subjects. Its official 2026-27 fee schedule sets two clear overseas undergraduate rates by course type, non-laboratory and laboratory or workshop based. Masters admissions have no formal deadline for most programmes, with recommended dates rather than hard cut-offs.

Admission at a glance

Reading takes undergraduate applications through UCAS on the national calendar: 18:00 UK time on 13 January 2027 is the equal consideration deadline for 2027 entry, and medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine or science courses across the UK follow an earlier 15 October 2026 deadline instead. Reading's standard undergraduate English language requirement, confirmed on its own page, is IELTS 6.5 overall with no element below 5.5, or the equivalent TOEFL iBT 88, PTE Academic 69, or Duolingo 125; a small number of courses, such as Speech and Language Therapy, ask for a higher level.

Reading's official Standard Tuition Fee Rates document for 2026-27 sets undergraduate overseas fees at two rates: GBP 25,850 a year for non-laboratory courses and GBP 30,650 a year for courses with significant laboratory or workshop content. Fees increase each year in line with UK CPI inflation, capped at 4 percent, for students who enrol from 2026-27 onwards.

Most of Reading's Masters programmes do not have a formal closing date; the University states plainly that although most master's programmes do not formally close for applications, some do have their own deadline, so a specific course should always be checked. For programmes without a stated deadline, Reading recommends that UK applicants apply by 1 August and international students needing a Student visa apply by 1 July for entry that September, while adding that it is still happy to consider applications submitted later where places remain.
