Admission at a glance

The Faculty of Medicine in Nis runs three study programmes taught in English that are open to domestic and foreign citizens alike: integrated academic studies of Medicine, integrated academic studies of Dental Medicine, and Bachelor of Applied Science in Nursing. Candidates for Medicine or Dental Medicine must have completed a four-year high school, a secondary school of medical orientation, or a secondary veterinary school, and they sit an entrance exam in Biology and Chemistry, given in English. Candidates for Nursing must have completed a four-year medical secondary school and sit an entrance exam in Human Anatomy and Human Physiology, also given in English. A candidate needs at least 21 points on the entrance exam to enroll in Medicine, or at least 14 points to enroll in Dental Medicine or Nursing, and must fall within the approved number of places.

For the 2026/27 academic year's second enrollment period, the faculty listed 41 self-financing places in Medicine, 8 in Dental Medicine, and 30 in Nursing (no state-budget places for foreign or self-financing candidates in this round). Applicants submit an online application together with a filled-out application form, a birth certificate with notarized Serbian translation, original secondary school transcripts and diploma with notarized Serbian translation, a passport photocopy, a certificate demonstrating English competence, and proof of payment of the 50 EUR application fee. Documents must be translated and notarized by a certified court interpreter in Serbia; applicants who finished high school in Serbia are excluded from the translation and Ministry of Education submission requirements. After the entrance exam, a ranking list and then a final ranking list are published, followed by a fixed enrollment window. Foreign students must also submit a tuberculosis screening result at enrollment, such as a BCG vaccination record, a recent Mantoux test, a QuantiFERON test, or a pulmonary examination report from the Institute for Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis in Nis.
