English test waiver

There is no English requirement for these bachelor's degrees because they are taught in Portuguese. The Faculty of Sciences requires Portuguese at CEFR B1, shown by the Elementary Diploma of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (DEPLE), a certificate from a ULisboa school stating B1, or a declaration of B1 in Portuguese language and culture, unless the applicant completed secondary education in Portuguese. An applicant below B1 may still apply, provided they commit to attending an annual Portuguese language and culture course. That B1 bar is the same as at Aveiro and lower than Coimbra's B2, so it is worth comparing before choosing a Portuguese university.
