University of Limerick Admission 2027: Deadlines, Requirements, Fees for International Students

Admission at a glance

The University of Limerick is a public university on the River Shannon in Munster, with a large campus and strong programmes in engineering, business and health sciences. Non-EU applicants apply directly to the university rather than through the CAO, and both undergraduate and postgraduate non-EU applications are handled by the Graduate and Professional Studies international office. The application fee is EUR 50, covering two programme choices in a single submission, and further programme choices need a new application and fee. For autumn entry, the application deadline for non-EU visa-required applicants is 1 July at noon Irish time; applications received after this date are not considered, so early submission matters, particularly given that a study visa itself takes time to process. Non-EU undergraduate tuition for 2026-2027 ranges from about EUR 13,700 a year for a one-year Diploma in Psychology to EUR 56,600 for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, with the figures including the university's annual student levy of EUR 104. Applicants whose first language is not English must reach a minimum confirmed for postgraduate entry as IELTS 6.5 with no component below 6.0, or an equivalent TOEFL, PTE Academic or Duolingo score, used as the university's general benchmark.

Requirements

Bachelor

Qualifications equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate, meeting the points and subject requirements of the chosen course.

Master

A relevant undergraduate honours degree, normally second class honours grade 1 or equivalent GPA.
