Cost of Studying in Ireland for International Students (2027)

Non-EU tuition fees depend heavily on institution and subject. Technological universities and several public universities charge non-EU undergraduates roughly EUR 10,000 to 15,000 a year for many programmes; the larger public universities are typically EUR 15,000 to 30,000 a year for arts, business, science and engineering degrees; and specialist fields such as medicine and dentistry can run from EUR 50,000 to over EUR 60,000 a year. Postgraduate taught masters generally cost EUR 11,000 to 40,000 a year depending on subject and institution. Almost every university also charges a smaller annual student levy or contribution fee, in addition to tuition, and private colleges typically add compulsory administration and student support fees on top of a flat tuition rate.

Beyond tuition, international students must show proof of at least EUR 10,000 to cover a year of living costs as part of their immigration permission, a figure that has applied since 30 June 2025. Students should also budget for a EUR 300 immigration registration fee, private medical insurance, and books or course materials. Actual monthly living costs vary by city and were not confirmed to a single official figure during this research; Dublin is consistently the most expensive city to live in, with other university cities generally cheaper.
