University of Iceland Tuition Fees 2027

The University of Iceland charges an annual registration fee of 100,000 ISK for a full academic year, or 75,000 ISK for students starting in the spring semester, payable by 4 July. Applicants from outside the EEA and EFTA also pay a one-off processing fee of 20,000 ISK, approximately 135 EUR. The Icelandic government has authorised universities to introduce tuition fees for students from outside the EEA, EFTA and Switzerland from the autumn semester of 2027. The University of Iceland lists the tuition fee per ECTS credit as to be determined, says levels may vary between programmes, and notes that the information may change pending final decisions by the Icelandic authorities. Tuition will not apply to students who start in autumn 2026, students already enrolled, doctoral programmes, or holders of permanent residence permits in Iceland.
