University of Ghana Admission 2026: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements

International undergraduate applications to the University of Ghana for 2026/2027 opened on 16 April 2026, and the closing date is listed as to be determined; the Certificate in English Proficiency follows the same timetable. General postgraduate admission ran from 19 February 2026 to 14 August 2026. International applicants and Ghanaians applying from abroad pay a non-refundable application fee of USD 55. Undergraduate applicants need credit passes in English and core mathematics among their WASSCE results, or equivalent Cambridge or International Baccalaureate qualifications. The latest published fee schedule, for 2025/2026, sets separate international rates: a first-year Bachelor of Arts costs USD 4,354 for African nationals and USD 5,158 for non-African nationals, science and agriculture USD 4,908 and USD 5,820, and Medicine USD 7,721 and USD 13,972. A one-year taught master's in the humanities costs foreign students USD 7,967, and the MBA USD 9,155. For graduate study, a one-year MSc in basic and applied sciences costs foreign students USD 9,205, while West African nationals pay USD 4,874 for a one-year MA. The university also runs a one-year Certificate in English Proficiency for students from non-English-speaking countries.
