The University of Ghana was founded in 1948 as the University College of the Gold Coast. For 2025/2026, first-year international undergraduates pay USD 4,354 (African nationals) to USD 5,158 (non-African nationals) for a Bachelor of Arts, rising to USD 7,721 and USD 13,972 at the Medical School. The application fee is USD 55, and international undergraduate applications for 2026/2027 opened on 16 April 2026.

The University of Ghana's provisional schedule of academic fees for 2025/2026 lists separate fees for international students. First-year undergraduate fees are USD 4,354 for African nationals and USD 5,158 for non-African nationals in the Bachelor of Arts, USD 4,908 and USD 5,820 in science and agriculture, and USD 7,721 and USD 13,972 at the Medical School. For graduate programmes, a one-year MA costs USD 7,967 for foreign students, USD 4,874 for West African nationals and USD 6,111 for other African nationals, a one-year MSc in basic and applied sciences USD 9,205, USD 5,494 and USD 6,979, and the MBA USD 9,155. The application fee is USD 55. Fees for 2026/2027 have not yet been published.
