Requirements
Bachelor
A secondary school qualification recognised as giving access to university study, normally twelve years of schooling completed with a final examination. Applicants from eleven-year school systems may need an extra qualifying year before enrolling. Programmes taught in Italian ask for a B2 Italian certificate; programmes taught in English ask for B2 English.
Master
A first-cycle (bachelor's) degree in a field relevant to the chosen programme, normally worth at least 180 ECTS credits or the equivalent. Some programmes set minimum credit requirements in specific subject areas and hold an admission interview or entrance test.
Documents
Passport, secondary school diploma or bachelor's degree certificate with transcript of grades, a Statement of Comparability or equivalent recognition document for the qualification, an English or Italian language certificate matching the programme language, a passport photo, and, for non-EU applicants, the Universitaly pre-enrolment summary once validated by the university.
How to apply
- Choose a programme and check its specific entry requirements on the corsi.unibo.it page.
- Apply online through the university's platform before the published deadline.
- Upload the required documents and pay any test or admission fee where the programme has one.
- If admitted, complete the Universitaly pre-enrolment application and apply for a study visa at the competent Italian consulate.
- Enrol online and complete matriculation once in Italy, including registration for the residence permit within eight days of arrival.
English test waiver
The general minimum for programmes taught in English is B2 level, shown by IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 72 or an equivalent certificate. A number of master's programmes ask for a higher score, up to IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 94; check the individual programme page under corsi.unibo.it. Applicants who completed a full degree taught in English are usually exempt from submitting a certificate.
