Admission at a glance

Birmingham takes undergraduate applications through UCAS on the standard national calendar: 15 October 2026, 18:00 UK time, for Medicine and Dentistry, and 13 January 2027, 18:00 UK time, for equal consideration on every other course. English language ability is set in four named groups confirmed directly on Birmingham's own international entry requirements page: Group A for most STEM courses (IELTS 6.0 overall, minimum 5.5 in each band), Group B for humanities and social sciences (6.5 overall, minimum 6.0), Group C for healthcare related courses (7.0 overall, minimum 6.5), and Group D for Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing (7.0 overall, minimum 7.0 in every band).

Birmingham's general tuition fees page does not publish specific overseas figures itself; it states the exact fee is confirmed in the offer letter and points to individual course pages instead. Checked directly for 2026 entry, those course pages confirm GBP 26,400 a year for English Literature BA, GBP 29,160 a year for Physics (International Study) BSc, and, for Medicine and Surgery MBChB, GBP 32,580 a year in the pre-clinical years 1 and 2 rising to GBP 52,080 a year in the clinical years 3 to 5, the highest confirmed rate. Birmingham had not yet published the 2027 entry rate for Medicine or Physics at the time of this research, so the 2026 entry figures are used here; see notes.
