Birmingham is a large civic Russell Group university with courses across the sciences, humanities, business and medicine. Its English language requirement is set in four groups from Group A (STEM) up to Group D (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing).

Requirements

Bachelor's degree

A-levels, the International Baccalaureate or another equivalent qualification at the level the specific course states, and English language ability at the course's group: Group A (6.0/5.5), Group B (6.5/6.0), Group C (7.0/6.5), or Group D (7.0/7.0).

Documents

UCAS application and personal statement, academic reference, transcripts and predicted or achieved grades, English language test certificate at the course's stated group, passport for identity and later for the Student visa.

How to apply

  1. Register with UCAS and choose Birmingham as one of up to five choices.
  2. Check the specific course's entry requirements and English language group.
  3. Submit the UCAS application by 18:00 UK time on 15 October 2026 for Medicine and Dentistry, or by 18:00 UK time on 13 January 2027 for every other course, for 2027 entry.
  4. Receive a decision through UCAS Track; accept a firm and, where eligible, an insurance choice.
  5. Meet the offer conditions, including final grades and the stated English language group; the exact tuition fee is confirmed in the offer letter.
  6. Apply for the Student visa once the place is confirmed unconditionally.

English test waiver
