Admission at a glance

Aberdeen takes undergraduate applications through UCAS on the national calendar: 18:00 UK time on 13 January 2027 is the equal consideration deadline for 2027 entry, and medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine or science courses across the UK follow an earlier 15 October 2026 deadline instead. The Undergraduate Standard English requirement, confirmed on Aberdeen's own page, is IELTS 6.0 overall, with Listening, Reading and Speaking each at least 5.5 and Writing at least 6.0, or the equivalent TOEFL iBT 78, PTE Academic 59, or Duolingo 105; Medicine (MBChB) sets a higher standard than this.

Overseas undergraduate tuition, confirmed from Aberdeen's own published 2025-26 full time fee table, is banded by subject area: GBP 20,800 a year for programmes in Arts and Social Sciences, GBP 24,800 a year for programmes in Sciences, and GBP 50,100 a year, the highest confirmed figure, for Dentistry. A 2026-27 table was not checked for this record. Aberdeen also charges the UK Immigration Health Surcharge, GBP 776 a year, on top of tuition for students requiring a Student visa, and offers a GBP 6,000 a year Aberdeen Global Scholarship tuition waiver to eligible self-funded international undergraduates outside Dentistry, Medicine and its Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPLP) course.

Postgraduate taught applications for January 2027 entry close on 30 November 2026 for applicants who need a Student visa and 7 December 2026 for UK applicants who do not. For the September 2026 intake Aberdeen recommended applying by 2 August 2026, with a final cut-off of 6 September 2026. Aberdeen describes its process as rolling within these cut-offs, so applying earlier improves the chance of a place on popular courses.
