Trinity College Dublin, officially the University of Dublin, is Ireland's oldest university and its most internationally recognised. Non-EU applicants for undergraduate study apply directly to Trinity rather than through the CAO, submitting a separate application for each course and paying a fee of EUR 55 per course through the online portal, which opens on 1 November. The priority deadline for most courses is 1 February, with decisions issued by 1 April, while a final deadline of 30 June covers remaining places; Medicine, Dentistry, Music and Drama close earlier, also on 1 February. Non-EU undergraduate tuition ranges widely by course, from about EUR 15,060 for Dental Nursing to EUR 60,000 for Medicine and Dental Science, and figures are set for the first year of study rather than the full programme. Taught postgraduate courses generally close on 30 June, though individual schools set earlier dates and review applications as they arrive. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Trinity's Band B requirement, typically IELTS 6.5 overall, TOEFL iBT 90, PTE Academic 69 or Duolingo 120, unless their course sets a different threshold or they complete Trinity's own pre-sessional English programme.

Requirements

Bachelor

A Leaving Certificate equivalent or recognised secondary school qualification meeting the entry points and subject requirements of the chosen course. Non-EU applicants submit transcripts, a reference and, for some courses, a personal statement or portfolio.

Master

An undergraduate honours degree in a relevant field, normally a 2.1 or equivalent GPA. Some programmes ask for a personal statement, references or relevant work experience.
