Tampere University Admission Requirements 2027

Tampere University was formed in 2019 by merging the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology, and teaches bachelor's and master's programmes in English in technology, health, business and the social sciences. Tuition for students from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland is a flat 10,000 euros a year for every bachelor's programme and 12,000 for every master's.

English test waiver

Tampere accepts TOEFL iBT at 78 overall with a minimum of 20 in writing, or 4 overall with no section below 3.5 on the scale introduced in January 2026; IELTS Academic at 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in writing, including the online version; and PTE Academic at 62 overall with a minimum of 61 in writing. An applicant admitted on the basis of SAT or ACT scores does not need to demonstrate language proficiency any further, though the test results still have to be delivered as the application document instructions require. Previous studies completed in English can also be used in place of a test, under conditions the university publishes separately. Note that Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences are different institutions with different minimums, and the lower figures often quoted online belong to the university of applied sciences.
