Admission at a glance

SUTD is a specialised design and engineering university, smaller than NUS or NTU, and shares its curriculum roots with MIT. Applicants with international qualifications apply for a January-cycle intake through the Other International Qualifications pathway, submitting predicted or final results, one recognised English test where their prior schooling was not in English, and any supporting material the programme asks for; SUTD does not publish a minimum test score, reviewing applications holistically instead. Undergraduate tuition is a single figure across all of SUTD's programmes rather than varying by school: S$62,076 a year for a student without the MOE Tuition Grant. A limited, merit-based number of Tuition Grant places are open to international students, bringing the fee down to S$30,200 a year for ASEAN nationals or S$31,600 for other international nationals, in exchange for the standard three-year work-bond obligation to a Singapore entity that applies at every autonomous university here. SUTD also runs the SUTD Education Opportunity Grant, which can cover up to 100 percent of tuition and hostel fees for eligible students on top of the Tuition Grant. The most recently published application window, for the 2026 cycle, ran from 2 January to 2 March 2026; the equivalent window for 2027 entry had not been published on SUTD's site as of September 2026. Requirements

Bachelor

An approved secondary qualification (A-Levels, IB, or an equivalent national school-leaving certificate) meeting SUTD's programme prerequisites, submitted with predicted or actual results, plus an English test score if the applicant's prior education was not conducted in English.

Master

A relevant bachelor's degree; SUTD's graduate programmes set their own criteria, published separately from the undergraduate cycle covered here.
