Riga Stradins University Admission Requirements 2027

Riga Stradins University, founded in 1950 as the Riga Medical Institute, has 12,474 students and teaches Medicine, Dentistry and a small group of other programmes in English. International students pay EUR 13,500 a year for Medicine and EUR 15,500 for Dentistry in 2026-27, and EUR 3,300 to EUR 5,000 for its other English-taught programmes. The application fee is EUR 100, and applications for the February 2027 Medicine and Dentistry intake close on 1 October or 1 November 2026 depending on citizenship.

English test waiver

A citizen of a non-EU or EEA country who did not have English as the language of instruction at secondary school must submit an official English test result issued within the last five years. RSU's minimums are IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80, Duolingo 115, Oxford Test of English 126, Aptis ESOL 144, Cambridge Proficiency, Advanced or First at 170, and a British GCE A Level at grade C. RSU says it prefers academically oriented tests to Duolingo. The same minimums apply to every programme, and applicants to English-taught master's programmes must also submit a test. Applicants whose secondary or higher education was completed in English are exempt. PTE Academic is not recorded because RSU's web page (51) and its formal admission procedure (59) give different minimums.
